Internships

EFE Stage

The Study Plan includes 3 ECTS/CFU to be collected by attending a Stage activity:

  • Internal + Thesis
  • External + Thesis

Stages (as in internships) are normally linked to the Thesis work, in which students describe the work carried out and the results obtained.

Depending on the type of thesis, internal or external, the student will carry out the stage within the University Department or an external firm/office.

The choice between an internal or external stage is entirely up to students. Regardless of the choice and before starting the activities, students need to identify a university tutor (normally within EFE), who will have the task of ensuring the success of the training experience of the stage.

The tutor should be an expert on the subject (research field) of the chosen activity.

At the end of the Stage, in order to register 3 ECTS/CFU, students must:

- Sign up to one of the “STAGE” rounds on UNIMIA page, within the cut-off dates for each graduation session

- Fill out the online form and submit it: https://forms.office.com/e/KcnXyrz1gj

Students must then carefully follow information and deadlines provided for each graduation session at the page GRADUATING.

Internal and external activities have both the same value in term of thesis’ final grade. For external internship/stage students must follow the procedures below requested by COSP office.

  • Students can participate in curricular internship/work placement
  • Those who have completed their study programme not more than 12 months ago can do extracurricular internships/traineeships.

The Cosp manages setup procedures for internships in public and private companies and institutions aimed at enrolled students, graduands and postgraduates.

How to find a stage opportunity

Students can either select one of the available internship positions on the University noticeboard or find an internship by themselves.
In any case they must follow procedures established by the Study and Career Guidance Centre (COSP).
